Mushroom Girls hanging ornaments polymer clay WIP tutorial

 I thought I posted this already here but apparently not, so here they are!

I start out making the armatures. In this post I am going to be showing how I made 3 different OOAK mushroom girl polymer clay ornaments using the same Patricia Rose Cupcake mold. I never really paid attention to what gauge to use for which size. If I'm scratch building, I already have the pose in the wire. When I'm using the molds, I would need to pose into shape. I think I tend to use too strong of a wire. 

I'm using a mix of cernit and super sculpey pressed into the mold. 

I tend to fill the molds with more clay because if you put less the two halves won't meet and then you have to redo it. 

I trim off the extra clay with a hobby knife. 

out of the mold and cleaned up I do the pose and add the mushroom cap hap. Face of this one is the closest to the mold face.

Happy New Year!

Happy holiday and Happy New Year to all! In 2024 I launched my business, Blue Oranda Sculpts, as a way for me to sell my artistic creations. I hand drew some mug/mouse pad/pin designs, sculpted a few OOAK sculptures, sculpted and casted two original figures, and made a few ornaments.  

In 2025 my plan is to offer some hand painted bookmarks, hand painted clay/ceramic ornaments/fridge magnets. In addition, I want to do more polymer clay figure/doll creations. I have a few finish things that I still have to photograph and post to my Etsy shop for sale.

Last year I tended to go from project to project and not fully finishing anything before starting something new. For example, I spent some months sculpting and molding my little faun creature but I never did any finished casting for sale. And this project started as a cat that I never finished to boot.

So I want to focus on actually completing projects and seeing things finished until the end in 2025. Let’s see how many projects I can complete this year!
