Aspergillus terreus Mold like Fungus Polymer Clay Sculpture

This post will cover my sculpture of Aspergillus terreus. This is a mold like fungus organism. In real life, the color of the mold colony is a cinnamon brown. The hair is supposed to be like the metula and phialides on the upper part of the vesicle, the face. The body is hyphae stained with lactophenol blue. 

I started with polymer clay and did two baking. I added the finishing touches with fixit sculpt so that I would not have to be the sculpture back into the oven again. 

I used Liquitex gesso as my primer. Even though polymer clay comes in many colors I like to paint my finished sculptures. 

I used vallejo model color acrylic paints. Total painting time was alittle over an hour. I did not keep track of the sculpting time.
