Painting and finished gallery for OOAK Elf girl and fairy ornaments

 

I didn't take too many WIP painting pictures but here is how the fairy and elf look all finished. 

I handbrushed liquitex gesso on the fairy and elf. I mixed white and black that I had to make a greyish. 

I paint the skin first. I'm using vallejo model color paints. 

I did an undercoating of dark blue on the fairy

I painted more greens into the dress

here is another view of the fairy pretty much all painted except the face.  

here is a close up of the face before I finished the eyes

switching gears to the elf. I was not sure if I wanted to paint her red or green but since the fairy I was thinking of doing greenish, I went with red for the elf, since both are going to same place. 

For both of them, I outlined the eyes in a reddish color before coloring them in with other paint colors. 

That's it for these two pieces. Total length of time to complete was about a month. More completed pictures below
